How is today going? Heading into a long weekend can feel amazing, and sometimes it can make you anxious. If you feel like you are swirling and nervous about the next couple of days, here is a quick thing you can do to check back into your body and get centered.

What’s great about this exercise is that you don’t have close your eyes, take deep breathes, or do anything that actually draws attention to yourself.

Choose one of your fingers and hold it with your other hand. The index finger might be the easiest. Don’t worry about what is going on around you and concentrate on your finger until you can feel your pulse. Breathe normally and focus on your pulse. Repeat in your mind the following:

I am here.

I am alive.

I am strong.

Do this as long as necessary until you feel more focused and centered. The more you practice this when you are anxious, the faster you can calm yourself and find clarity. You can do this. We hope that this weekend is exactly what you need it to be.
